WHAT WE PROVIDE
- Up to 19 hours per week. Flexible work schedules (morning, afternoon, evening, night, and weekend shifts) that accommodate the university operating schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountability: Responsible for specific tasks according to the role (e.g., designing programs, managing equipment, officiating sports, etc.).
- Customer Service: Provide great customer service by anticipating patrons' needs in a welcoming environment.
- Communication: Clearly articulate and educate patrons on departmental policies and procedures. Maintain frequent contact with the professional staff. Listen to feedback and work to adjust/improve accordingly.
- Safety: Work with others to execute risk reduction measures and provide care in emergency situations.
- Resolve Conflict: Be able to listen, understand, and work through situations when needed.
- Teamwork: Work well with others to accomplish goals.
WHAT YOU PROVIDE
- Currently enrolled student at UTSA with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.
- Appropriate role model behavior always – sets an example for peers.
- Be able to pass the State of Texas criminal background check.
- Obtain First Aid, Adult CPR, and AED certifications within the first 30 days of employment.
- Completion of UTSA student employee compliance training and any additional certification/training required by the department and university.

Aquatics - Lifeguard
- Responsible for patron surveillance and facility safety within the Aquatic Center.
- Works alongside the Aquatic Leadership and Maintenance Team.
- Ensures the safety of patrons through surveillance, policy education, and enforcement.
- Must pass pre-requisites for Lifeguard course during the interview process and complete Lifeguard certification within 30 days of hire. Learn more about the Lifeguard certification program.
Aquatics - Technician
- Provides maintenance and cleaning within the Aquatic Center.
- Works alongside the Lifeguard Staff with the opportunity to become Lifeguard certified.
- Responsibilities include skimming the pool surface, brushing the pool shell, straightening furniture, and assisting in the pool pump room.
- Ensures safety by inspecting the facility and reporting unsafe conditions.
Facilities and Events - Assistant
- Provides custodial maintenance and assists with special events in the Recreation Center and Recreational Field Complex.
- Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing tile, washing windows, and emptying waste/recycling receptacles.
- Leads others through set-ups and teardowns during special event support.
Fitness - Assistant
- Responsible for patron safety, customer service assistance to members, and managing risk in the Weight and Cardio Rooms.
- Includes cleaning and occasional equipment maintenance.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs without reasonable accommodations.
- Working knowledge of free weights, pin-loaded and plate-loaded machines, cardiovascular equipment, and exercise accessories is required.
Group Exercise - Instructor
- Leads and delivers group fitness instruction in various formats such as dance, kickboxing, step aerobics, yoga, barre, etc.
- Develops and organizes choreography, movement sequencing, cueing participants, and ensuring safety during classes.
- Requires current group exercise certification or must obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Emphasizes building effective relationships with participants and promoting a welcoming class environment.

Marketing - Graphic Designer
- Specializes in graphic design for general marketing and communication projects.
- Must submit work samples/portfolio and have basic Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator knowledge.
- Designs inclusive marketing materials following UTSA brand guidelines.
- Participates in collaborative brainstorming and design of promotional materials.

Marketing - Social Media Assistant
- Specializes in social media for general marketing and communication projects.
- Must submit work samples/portfolio and have experience managing social media accounts.
- Designs inclusive social media content following UTSA brand guidelines.
- Identifies social channel needs and shares feedback with the team.
Marketing - Videographer
- Specializes in videography for general marketing and communication projects.
- Must submit work samples/portfolio and have prior experience with Adobe Premiere.
- Provides recording, numbering, and filming images and videos following UTSA brand guidelines.
- Utilizes YouTube for video purposes and effectively uses DSLR, lighting, and audio production techniques.

Member Services - Assistant
- Provides a great experience to members and guests in a diverse environment.
- Anticipates patrons' needs and provides customer service in a welcoming environment.
- Educates patrons on departmental policies and procedures.
- Works on risk reduction measures and provides care in emergency situations.
Office - Assistant
- Assists with the day-to-day operations of the administrative office and supports professional staff.
- Serves as the first point of contact in the Administrative Office suite.
- Communicates effectively in person, via phone, and email regarding Campus Recreation inquiries.
- Familiarize themselves with all Campus Recreational programs, events, policies, and procedures.
Outdoor Pursuits - Assistant
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Outdoor Resource Center and Rock Wall.
- Responsible for equipment lending, trip processes, inspections, repairs, inventory control, and documentation.
- Supervises and instructs patrons in rock climbing and facility/equipment use.
- Advises patrons on outdoor recreation activities, destinations, and equipment.
- Cultivates community among patrons with various experience levels and diverse identities.
Sport Programs - Official
- Responsible for regulating Sport Programs events and officiating Intramural Sports.
- Officiates designated sports such as flag football, basketball, indoor/outdoor soccer, and volleyball.
- Collaborates with staff in preparation for Sport Programs events and manages equipment check-out for the Recreational Field Complex.
Strength & Conditioning - Personal Trainer
- Utilizes NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or other approved guidelines to design exercise programs tailored to individual needs. Learn more about Campus Rec's NASM Certification Prep program.
- Conducts Fitness Assessments, Equipment Orientations, and Personal Training.
- Instructs small group sessions such as Synergy, Women-On-Weights, and Summer Youth Program.
- Sets up and works Meet-A-Trainer (MAT) tables.
- Requires approved Personal Training Certification and knowledge of free weights, pin-loaded, and plate-loaded machines.
